Arrived in Vienna

Well I am now on my way home! I still do not think that it has hit me yet.. I am not sure that it will until I am in the United States, maybe not until I am back home. My luggage was not overweight (or at least they did not charge me) and I was allowed to carry on my slightly too large suitcase. The flight went smoothly, other than the incredibly creepy man who looked like Geddy Lee the lead singer of Rush. He kept staring at us to the point that I do not think he had any sense of social cues. He walked back to the rear bathroom. I knew he was walking past so i pretended to be sleeping. He stalled for about 3 seconds by our row and I thought he was going to talk to us but he kept on walking. His red tinted glasses did not help his cause at all.

The two hour flight flew by and if there is one thing that is so refreshing to experience, it is good customer service. I was not expecting such friendly service from the Austrian flight attendants because I am not used to being smiled at by strangers let alone treated gratuitously or spoken to in english. Austria is a definite winter wonderland right now. We landed on the icy and snowy tarmac... does anyone know why planes do not fishtail or slide on the snow? The snow is coming down pretty hard here and it is absolutely gorgeous. I just really hope that our flights are not delayed or cancelled. The airline put us up in a hotel for the night. A taxi service drove us to the hotel, all at no cost to us! (well.. it was probably part of the flight cost). I was surprised by how smoothly the whole process went. We have definitely been blessed thus far! So our taxi brings us back to the airport at 8 am tomorrow and the plan is to head to NYC where I have a 5 hour layover and then it is homeward bound. I will have been traveling for 2 and a half days. ohh man. I cannot wait to see my family. I just hope this next day flies by (no pun intended).

Anyways I am off to get some dinner with Dani. Stinks that we are no longer living in the lei currency! That is all for now!
