Sept. 12: So today we went to the botanical gardens with the girls (-megan) Mihai, Andreaa, her brother Radu, Petru and Julian. I feel bad.. Julian is always left out. We took the bus which was interesting because it was Sunday and we did not have tickets. We basically rode a bus for free to the gardens because the ticket booth was closed.. whoops. The gardens were so pretty.. lots of trees and flowers (less so because it is fall time). There was a big rose garden which would be gorgeous in the spring/ summer. One of our cultural proofs is to photograph and do a write up on 20 locally growing plants. I used the opportunity of this trip to do so. All the plants were labeled so it was so perfect. The gardens were so gorgeous and reminded me of the Arborium in Boston. There was a really old man made lake where lots of people were just hanging out.. watching the ducks and fish. We sat and talked for a bit which was so nice and relaxing. Learned a few new Romanian sayings like "some people say yay for bread and nay for war" They think our sense of humor is really bad but I think theirs is bad haha.. all they do is make fun of people which gets more annoying than funny. All in all a great day. I dont know how many more of these pretty days we will have once it starts raining in the winter. All the other pictures are uploaded on my Facebook!
