Day 35

One word. BRRRR. . ok it is not a word but a sound. Today was a chilly one! The mean worker was in a wicked good mood today which was a really nice change. HUGE SUCCESS today.. Jello said 'apa'..meaning 'water'! Oh man it was so incredible. There is a series of stacking blocks that the kids love to play with. I often pretend that the block is a cup and drink out of it saying apa! Today Jello put the block to my lips so I drank out of it and said mmmm apa! and he repeated me! He said it perfectly too. I am seeing such improvements in Jello's language. When I first got here the only thing he would do is laugh.. he would not babble or anything and now he babbles and makes distinguishable words when prompted.
AU has a new software which is so great.. Teo created a board for him that basically looks like a Romanian keyboard on the bottom half of the screen. Using the cross scanner software, he is able to type by selecting the letters on the screen. This is so great because what I do is tell him a word like.. 'zmeu' and he can type the word on the screen. The first step is to have him comfortably know the alphabet. Reading will open the doors for his education, "writing" will open the doors to his expression. I feel so special, first to be able to play a part in such a special time in A.u's life and secondly, to be touched by his specialness each and every day. He is such a special boy. His eyes are so vibrant and you can just feel how much he is loved by the Lord.
The hospital went smoothly today. Megan joined me because her baby went home. Sad for Megan but good for the baby. Yesterday, Dr. Porter told me to watch out.. that baby boys can pee right at you while changing their diaper. I laughed but I had not had any problems with these babies and I have been changing their diapers for over a week now. Ironically enough, Megan was changing the baby boy's diaper and he peed on her! It shot up and back down onto her pants. lovely! haha poor megan. It was so ironic though that I just died laughing. It was cute too because one of the boys in our room's dad was this quieter, older, Romanian guy.. he looked over and just bust up laughing. Smiled ear to ear. These people do not smile a lot but when they do they seriously light up a room!
The day closed with Megan and I running to the mall to get a coat (it is that time of year). Dont even worry though cause the taxi denied us so we walked to the mall haha. Luckily it was not too far at all. Love the coat I got but not as much as I love the wonderful people in my life:) cheesy but true. be safe, make good choices, keep and follow all the rules and we'll see you at the top...be there. Make it a great day! haha..
