Weekend= Throwup + Candy.

So I was really excited for this much needed weekend but... the weekend was not having it.
On Friday, Megan and I left a little early from the hospital because she was not feeling well. She lied down and we were wondering what in the world she had gotten sick from as our diets consist mainly of pasta, rice, bread, bananas, bottled water, and fairly safe foods.
Sure enough.. Saturday morning I find myself running out of my room and into the bathroom to throw up. This quickly became the routine for the next 17 hours. These 17 hours took 2nd place to my kidney infection my junior year of high school in terms of pain and sickness. I could not even keep down a sip of water and a pepto bismol.
I felt like death and was so grateful to see a member from the branch walk through the door. It was 10 pm but he was willing to walk to our apartment to give me a blessing. How comforting to feel that even thousands of miles away, I still can be protected, supported, and comforted by the power of the priesthood. I was so feverish and sick that I barely remember him leaving.. I could not even make it back to my bed I was so sick. Incredibly enough though, I woke up feeling vigorated. My body still ached from Saturday's blah-ness but my fever had broken and I could see and hear fully. What an incredible blessing! Each hour, I felt increasingly healthier.
Dr. Porter (our professor at BYU) flew in today and will be here for a week which is really exciting. He brought us a bunch of Halloween candy and guess what... he brought 3 of my favorite candies! starbust, kit kat and peanut M&Ms! What a wonderful surprise and timing!
Anyways.. I am off to watch the rest of general conference even though it is 12 am... love the time difference!
