Friday: The orphanage was good today.. I cannot believe that it has been another week! I sat down and made my goals for Carolyn Andrew's class.. I have to make 5 goals in direct regards to improving my Romanian experience. I have specific means by which I will accomplish my goals, but generally speaking some of the goals that I set include improving language with A.U through use of the computer lab, improving language with Jello and Sidekick by reinforcing and helping them practice, making sure that I make every child in my room smile every day (this means that I will have to spend some extended time with those that are have cerebral palsy, severe hydrocephalus etc. because they do not have the same cognitive function as the other children and do not have the same level of reaction to stimuli). I think that this last goal is incredibly important because I am able to ensure that I am making each child happy for a little a day and making sure that I spend some one on one time with each of them. I also made some goals in regards to my workers and learning the language and understanding the culture. I plan on keeping a little field journal with me and writing down any questions I may have to ask Mario later.. things like this.

Saturday was really rainy and really cold. I stayed in and had a wonderful time eating starburst, catching up on homework and catching up with Brad on skype! That alone was enough to make my day. Later that evening we got all dressed up and went out to dinner with the girls. We went to a little place called Little Texas. It is a western style "american" restaurant that was started by some American ex-pats. We had an interesting experience getting there as we said 'little texas' and the taxi driver had no idea where to go! Luckily Aubrea had the cell phone and we called Mihai so that he could tell the taxi driver in ROmanian where we were looking to go! The food was much needed american-esque food. I had a chimichanga and for dessert I had apple pie with vanilla ice cream. I am not sure what I liked more the food or the fact that they were playing Tim McGraw, George Strait and the works all night long. The drive home worked out because the wonderful restaurant host called us two taxis. All in all a great little weekend. It is funny because the weeks are so jam packed and crazy all I really want to do on weekends is relax. You know your schedule is crazy when you WANT to do homework because it is a break.
